BARC Junior Research Fellowship 2025

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) invites applications for 105 Junior Research Fellowships in Physical, Chemical, and Life Sciences. This fellowship offers an opportunity to pursue Ph.D. research at BARC and its affiliated institutions under the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI).

Last Date to Apply: May 19,2025

Duration: Initial tenure of 2 years as Junior Research Fellow (JRF), extendable up to 5 years. Upon satisfactory performance, the fellowship may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) from the third year.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Less than 28 years as of August 1, 2025
• Age relaxation applicable as per government norms
• Educational Qualifications: BSc with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks
• MSc/Integrated MSc/BS-MS with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in relevant disciplines
• Candidates awaiting final results may also apply, subject to conditions
• Qualifying Exams: Candidates must have a valid score in at least one of the following: UGC-CSIR-NET Fellowship (Lectureship not eligible) GATE JEST ICMR-JRF DBT-JRF ICAR-JRF

Stipend: ₹37,000 per month for JRF. ₹42,000 per month for SRF (from the third year onwards). Annual contingency grant of ₹60,000, including book allowance.
